How To Apply For A Kitchener Scholarship

To qualify for a Kitchener Scholarship either:

a) one of your parents must have served as a member of His Majesty’s Armed Forces and you have been accepted for an undergraduate course at a British university; or

b) you are an ex-serviceman or woman aged under 30 and you have been accepted for an undergraduate course at a British university.

To qualify for a Kitchener Scholarship at post-graduate level:

a) you have been a Kitchener Scholar at undergraduate level; and either

b) one of your parents must have served as a member of His Majesty’s Armed Forces and you have been accepted for post-graduate studies; or

c) you are an ex-serviceman or woman aged under 30 and you have been accepted for post-graduate studies.


In all cases applicants must demonstrate a record of scholastic and personal achievement and the potential for future development.

NB. the deadline for applications is 31st May for the academic year starting in September/October of that year.
