Annual General Meeting 2018

The 2018 AGM of the Kitchener Scholars' Association will take place at the Guildhall London on 18th September 2018 starting at 1800hrs.

In due course and to meet the current rules of the KSA, further details of the AGM will be published on our website as will the Agenda. Minutes of the last meeting, Treasurer's report. It is from that website where all details of the AGM can be downloaded.

Election of Officers. (Please note Rule 19)
19.  Nominations for election as an Officer (other than the President and Vice-President(s) or Committee Member must be sent to the Secretary so as to reach him at least 14 days before the AGM. In the event of no nomination being received as aforesaid for election as an Officer (other than the President and Vice-President(s) then a nomination (whether written or verbal) submitted at the AGM shall be valid.

The Officers of the Association shall be:

1.     President - not for re-election.

2.    Vice-President(s) - not for re-election

3.    Chairman

4.    Vice-Chairman

5.    Secretary - Now an appointed position not for re-election.

6.    Honorary Treasurer

Nominations for Officers 3, 4 and 6  are to reach the Secretary by 1 September 2018.

Positions available:

Chairperson – Chairs the committee meetings and AGM, is the figure head of the KSA and is the main point of contact between the Fund and the Association. Oversees all activities of the committee to ensure successful delivery of the KSA aims and events.

Vice Chairperson – Deputises for the Chairperson in his/her absence and leads on organising the main three KSA events (in conjunction with the Chairperson and/or delegated to other committee members when appropriate).

Treasurer –Responsible for all income and expenditure of the KSA, reconciling the bank account at the end of the year and producing a set of annual accounts, producing financial reports for the Committee meetings and working closely with the Membership Secretary to ensure membership fees are paid.

Secretary – Responsible, in consultation with the Chairperson, for producing the agenda at the Committee meetings and writing and circulating the minutes of each meeting. Organises the AGM, including producing the agenda and minutes .

Membership Secretary – You will be responsible for communicating events and relevant news to the membership as well as reconnecting/engaging with scholars, taking enquiries from the website, managing the database and liaising with new scholars.

Events Officer – You will work closely with the vice chairperson to organise the three main events that the KSA produces each year.

Some of the tasks included:

  • Collating guest lists
  • Liaising with venue and caterers.

Merchandise Officer
– responsible for the sourcing, promotion and sales of KSA branded goods.

Social Media Manager – responsible for uploading interesting and relevant content to the KSA’s Linked In, Facebook, website and Twitter. You will also be responsible for facilitating and ‘connecting’ scholars for networking opportunities via social media.

Newsletter Editor: Responsible for finding and editing content, producing and arranging for the printing and distribution of ‘Thorough’, the quarterly newsletter that goes out to the Membership.
