Gascoigne Room at the Union Jack Club, London

Centenary Expert Panel
This will be a lively and fascinating panel discussion for all scholars to attend and I very much hope to see you there.

The event will take place in the comfortable surroundings of the Gascoigne Room at the Union Jack Club, Sandell St, Waterloo, London, SE1 8UJ.

This session will illustrate what we can learn about leadership styles, crisis management and personal courage from an iconic career. By focusing on the relevance of Lord Kitchener to the present generation, we will create a stimulating ‘Question Time’ type discussion of Kitchener as a human being with insights into the period in which he lived, and ways in which we today can learn from his exploits and character. As our benefactor, we think that this is an unmissable event about Lord Kitchener in a year when we commemorate the centenary of the foundation of our association and community.

The Panel is planned as a ‘hybrid event’ involving both an audience in person and streaming online.

Doors will open at 5.30 pm for drinks, and the Panel will begin at 6.00pm; afterwards free drinks and food will be served from the private bar in the Gascoigne Room. This will be both an informative learning session but also a convivial networking opportunity for all. Please don't worry if you join a little late due to work commitments.

RSVP to our secretary Neal (secretary@kitchenerscholars.org), indicating whether you wish to join in person (the best option if possible) or to join online.

With very best wishes
